Has your body ever been seized with pain? Has your mind ever been tempted with thoughts of unforgiveness and hate? Have you ever been wounded by shame, hurt, even scarred by the things of your past? Today is a time to declare ‘no more’. It’s time to let it all go and turn it all over to our commander and chief, Jehovah Rapha-The Lord Your Healer.
The first time we see Jehovah Rapha, is in Genesis 20:17 where God had healed Abimelech, his wife, his female servants after Abraham prayed for their wombs to be open. Throughout the entire Bible we see where God has healed His people from countless ailments and diseases. His healing power is not just limited to physical issues, but our God is able to heal souls (Psalm 41:4) and minds/hearts (Psalm 147:3) too. He is a holistic God which means that He is a God of completion, a God who is able to do a full work up on our entire being: ‘Body-Soul-Mind’.
In addition, He can heal more than our physical-emotional-spiritual man, our God is able to heal our situations too (Exodus 15:22-27). What a God!! He can heal anything…He is limitless when it comes to applying His healing.
Isaiah 53:5d states that “by His stripes we are healed” however certain stipulations are imposed in order for this to occur. According to 2 Chronicles 7:14, James 5:16 and Proverbs 4:20-22:
we must humble ourselves
confess and turn from our wicked ways
pray for each other
take heed to the Word of God
God wants to restore you today. He wants to mend the brokenness of your heart and set you free. He wants your body to be whole and your mind to be set free from every form of bondage from the enemy. He desires above everything that you would prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers (3 John 1:2).
For some additional reading let your eyes and mind feast on Deuteronomy 32:39, 2 Chronicles 30: 1-20, Job 5:18, Psalm 30:2, Isaiah 1:16-20 and 1 Peter 2:24 (please note, this list is not inclusive of all the times healing has been recording in the scriptures).
Welcome dear friend.
My daily walk is filled with struggles of obedience and surrender to the leadings of my Abba as I fulfill my current purpose of servitude towards my family and friends.
With each step along my journey, I am given constant opportunities to prove how much I need Christ and am “lifeless” without Him.
It is my prayer that the lessons shared will bring us closer to each other and ultimately closer to Him.
“I do this thing for God, not for success in the work, or for happiness in my soul or for anything else. I am here for God. Life is grandly simple when the spirit of calculating results and consequences, even spiritual results and consequences, has been left among the things that are behind, when obedience is the only thing that matters, when God Himself, and no mere ‘experience’ is our exceeding great reward.” ~Lilias Trotter
